Job Description:  Position involves working with environmental engineers to carry out assignments supporting the District's three drinking water production facilities, water distribution system, and drinking water compliance program. Interns will be supporting various projects and programs and will gain experience in water treatment processes, such as conventional filtration treatment processes and reverse osmosis technology, assist with updating drinking water regulatory plans and reports, and assist with distribution system-related programs such as the Main Cleaning Program. Typical tasks will include working with large databases, performing data analysis in excel, collecting samples in the field or laboratory and subsequent analysis with handheld or benchtop instruments, tracking lab samples, developing maps, and writing reports or procedures. Interns will work both in the office and in the field and must have a valid California driver's license.
